Minister of youth and sport: Follow up Information Bribe AFF Cup

 Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of youth and sports pihal Andi Malarangeng ask for police following up information that circulated widely through electronic mail which says the existence of bribery in AFF Cup final between Indonesia and Malaysia last December 2010.

"I was very surprised to hear the information. If the information is correct, it's not just ordinary criminals, but betrayal to the nation," said Andi Mallarangeng after opening a seminar here on Tuesday.

Allegations of bribery in AFF Cup final sticking out after the publication of electronic mail addressed to President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono of the guy named Eli Cohen, said the Ministry of Finance as tax officials, who requested an investigation of the bribery scandal in the final of the AFF Cup in Malaysia.

As a follow up of the information. Andi then assigns the Secretary Menpora Wafid Muharam to consult with the police authorities to fully investigate the information conveyed was a man named Eli Cohen.

But so far no one knows with certainty the identity of the sender.

"The information was not necessarily true and also not necessarily incorrect. We could not determine, but clearly we receive that information," said Andi.

Regardless of the truth of the contents of the letter, Andi said that ordinary citizens can only provide information about the perpetrators of crime as one of a citizen who reported the existence of Gaius Tambunan abroad.

"I do not know who the sender and also do not know whether the information is correct. But for me this information is very surprising," he said.

At the AFF Cup final which took place last December, Indonesia has not won after a 0-3 defeat in Kuala Lumpur despite then won 2-1 in Jakarta.
